I work at a hospital, I work weekends and holidays mostly as a fill in and lately it's been a fight to get paid for the work I've done. The cfo told me to “be patient” (in an email) when they were a month behind paying me for the work I did in July.
I've responded only in emails to them about my pay and included my boss, and the higher ups but I find they put off my emails and ignore me a lot of the time. How can I avoid this in the future? I send them emails when I work and this last time sent close to 10 emails about my pay and not getting paid for the hours worked. If they get to a point where they flat out refuse to pay me for my work what recourse do I have? Department of Labor?
And yes I know leaving is an option but just incase they don't pay me for the work I've done.
