How do we maintain the balance between Worker Happiness and Positive Innovation?

This is a genuine question that has plagued me during my time scrolling this sub. Several people here are extremely positive about the working conditions of places like France, Sweden etc. But most bigger companies are from the US. The worker rights in the county are absolutely awful but the tax breaks for companies and the motivation to go up the corporate ladder have helped in making a lot of progress over the years. I understand that both are important. But I can't find a middle ground example anywhere and I have no idea how to resolve it. So I thought I would just ask people in this sub. Increasing benefits for the population requires money and most of that money would come from tax if we were to follow the policies of European countries. But, the exceedingly high tax rates and lower pay gaps do not motivate people enough…

I understand that both are important. But I can't find a middle ground example anywhere and I have no idea how to resolve it. So I thought I would just ask people in this sub. Increasing benefits for the population requires money and most of that money would come from tax if we were to follow the policies of European countries. But, the exceedingly high tax rates and lower pay gaps do not motivate people enough to start companies that would help breed innovation like they have in the US. So what is the solution here? Is there even a healthy medium between a good quality of life and a booming economy?
