How does a Teachers Union Strike affect Classified Staff?

So my wife is a classified staff worker at a middle school in my town, and it’s sounding like the teachers union is going to go on strike next week as they haven’t been able to reach an agreement by the deadline (today) The strike is coinciding with a neighboring city teachers union strike, so there aren’t any substitutes available, so the schools will be closed during the strike. What happens if the schools are closed? Does my wife loose out on her pay? We need to budget as much as we can, and if she looses out on a few days pay, that really stretches things for us. This is unfamiliar ground for us.
