How has work f*cked you mentally?

When I started working around 8 years ago I was an optimistic employee looking to quickly rise up the corporate ladder. Last year I got an extremely stressful job that has pushed me to a point where I’m wondering if I’m causing permanent damage to myself (physically & mentally). I honestly never knew what anxiety was and naively thought it was a personality thing. Now I have experienced it first hand and I really empathize with people who have to feel like this everyday. Same thing with burnout – experienced for the first time this year. It doesn’t seem worth it anymore and I’m almost ready to burn it all down. Unfortunately, bills and whatnot. Definitely not looking to climb the corporate ladder anymore. Fuck that. I’m looking for something comfortable. If I want to push myself, I’ll do that via hobbies.
