how should i go about changing my availability for work?

i interviewed for a club but didnt hear back for a while. before this, i had already given my manager my availability for the school year, friday and saturdays mornings, and thursday nights. i actually first gave friday and saturday mornings, but then my manager said that my availability was “too limited” and that i need to “add an extra day” so i gave him a thursday night (which confused me bc when interviewed for the job the owner said that 2-3 days a week is what students normally do during school). a few days ago, i learn i got the club position and need to request to actually change my availability from thursday nights to a different day, since club meetings take place on thursdays. im worried about what type of message to send to my manager or that he’ll get mad – and i need to be able…

a few days ago, i learn i got the club position and need to request to actually change my availability from thursday nights to a different day, since club meetings take place on thursdays. im worried about what type of message to send to my manager or that he’ll get mad – and i need to be able to attend the club meeting as if i dont my offer will be rescinded (and i rlly need the position, for context it’s uni). what type of message should i send here? i was going to do something along the lines of “something unforeseen was added to my school schedule and I’m unable to work on thursdays, I apologize and can work __ day instead.” just looking for advice, thank you!
