I just got a job at a grocery store about 3-weeks ago. It's not that bad (besides the pay and normal retail stress). I thought everyone was cool until the other day. One of the leaders started to complain to me about our assistant department manager. I read an article that gossip makes you more likable. In an attempt to be more likable, I started talking to her about him and whatnot. Anyway, I think the new guy she was training overheard and told our AM. Whatever though, I've heard our AM complain, why can't she complain? That's not really the whole issue though. This lady kept telling me someone had stolen her good box cutter. She's giving me very paranoid vibes. In the hour we worked together, she misplaced her “bad” box cutter and said, “I think someone's playing games with me”. She literally found it 2 minutes later… IDK where my actual department manager is. I think he's on vacation until God knows when. I haven't seen him since Saturday.
How can I get out of this dumb drama? Should I just not talk to anyone?
