I took on a job with crazy expectations and lots of turnover + toxic and judgemental people. This is supposed to be a decent sized corporation. I told them too much about my personal life and my crazy neighbors, tte bad area I live in, etc. During this time, stress (mostly from me going back to drinking, the commute to and from the job, daycare and the demands of this job) got the best of me and I burnt myself out. They were perfectly fine with me taking PTO/vacation time until they weren’t. I had a miserable sinus infection & double ear infection and I could not possibly go into work and perform my job well.
I got told on teams from our director of ops “why????” And stuff like “IF you are really that sick!” Etc….
I brought a doctors note back, accounted for ALL of the time I took off and also wrote to the vice president of the company. Im quite sure they are looking to retaliate but they are also too cheap to let me collect unemployment.
Today, I took an extended lunch and drank. I am miserable and i know that’s not ok. I have communicated all of my responsibilities and I’ve performed well. Even this morning they were happy with my work….
At 4:00pm we had an email from my direct boss and our DOOP at our local office telling everyone to shutdown everything when they leave today so we can do a system reset.
It’s just so obvious that they are hoping I’ll quit, call in, won’t show up tomorrow.
I still have stacks of paperwork on my desk. I also have an interview at 8:30 at a place that might pay me $15k more to do ONLY accounting work.
Ive been communicative in this whole matter, but was unprofessional at one time too with the format of my emails.
I thought everything was OK since vice president, my boss, and the Director of operations all said via teams, and an email that it was OK that I had a bad moment.
What the fuck should I do?
Lol
