Okay.
So I guess the Title is very common and everyone on this sub has gone through this.
But this is happening to me after a very long time. I have previously worked under toxic bosses but that was like 4-5 years ago.
Recently there was an Internal Job posting in my company for different location. I was doing pretty well in my current role but wasn't feeling any growth in terms of learning so I applied for that posting. Gave interview and was selected and moved in to new location in the beginning of this month.
Now the problem is my new boss who was the one selected me for this new role is extremely toxic. In the beginning I thought may be he is really trying to help me explore my potential but today it was the limit.
When I casually opened up with one of my colleagues he told me that almost everyone in this office has reported about my Boss once in their tenure but the management doesn't care.
He would try and control almost everything.
We are into sales so persuading customer is a very important part of our job. But wait, even If I have to speak to customer he would what should I say to the customer word by word and then at the end he would ask me to repeat just what he said.
Today He asked me to call the customer in front of him and said he wanted to listen how do I talk to the customer.
That was really insulting.. I was a star performer in my previous location and was also awarded the best employee in last quarter for achieving higest numbers. I know how to speak to the customer and mould them into getting orders. But this guy thinks only he knows what's right and only his way is the right way.
He would make us feel like we are the most stupid guys who are completely worthless.
I have just started working under him and don't even have that kind of position that I can go against him. I don't know how would I deal with him.
Any ideas/tips from anyone?
