Would you return to an old workplace for $61K? My old boss messaged me saying the person who replaced me turned in their notice and asked what $ it would take to bring me back. I said $67K. When HR called they asked me a range and I said $67-$71K and they laughed and said “whoa, whoa, whoa that’s too high lower your range”. I said $64-$67K and then HR said okay we’ll get back to you. They came back with $61K.
I was previously making $45K and left to make $54K as a staff accountant. I have not received a raise at the new place yet since reviews are in March, but they give 3%, should I go back? Or stay with my current workplace? Would it look bad on a resume to go back to your extract old position? I asked for a senior title too to return, but was told that would have to go to a board.
