I got married 2 weeks ago so this week I went and added my wife to my health insurance.
My boss sent me a message congratulating me on my marriage.
I like my boss and had told her I was engaged, though I regretted it immediately because I realized I wasn't inviting her to my wedding. Nothing against her, I think she's great, but I have a thing about “worlds colliding” so I left her out.
What the ever loving fuck is wrong with HR that they think they can tell anyone my business. I don't know who else was told. I want to raise hell but I'm sure I'll be seen as an asshole. I don't want anyone holding my family against me in raise negotiations.
I'm really pissed off and am thinking I should just find another job and start over. I like my job and my boss but the rest of the firm, well anyone above my boss really, sucks ass. I'm pretty sure we're gonna be told to be back in the office next year after being remote the past three.
So mad right now.
