I hope this is the right sub for this. We're the dominant life form on the only planet known in the entire universe to host sentient life. We've figured out how to grow/produce more food than the entire population could ever use. We no longer have to worry about any predators. Do you think we would have taken this hard earned freedom from predation/starvation to make sure everybody has their basic needs met? You think we would have taken a look around and evaluated our priorities and thought “you know what maybe we only go around the sun about 75 times before we return to nothing, maybe i won't spend my entire life at work?” Nah. The rich just became the new predators. Life is great. If you can afford it. But, the avearge person needs to sign a 30 year mortage just to afford something that should be a human right? I'd gladly live in a fucking rv if it meant that I had more time to enjoy myself. All I need is my laptop and my cat. Fuck everything else. I hate this species. I should be spending my days seeing everything this planet has to offer. But, nah. I'll be at work i guess.
