My husband has been working for his employer for 3.5 years. He hasn’t had any issues until 6 months ago when his supervisor seemed to suddenly turn on him. She started complaining about his performance to upper management and writing him negative performance reviews. She told him that he’s making too many mistakes that she’s having to go back and fix. He asked for specific example so that he doesn’t make those mistakes again. She refused to give any and instead sent her complaint to upper management. He is now being told that his performance needs to improve or they’ll have to take action. He’s asked multiple times for examples of what he’s doing wrong but they keep refusing to clarify.
Today he reached out for help on a project and she reprimanded him for it. He doesn’t know what mistakes he’s making, so he’s asking for help reviewing his work. Why is he being reprimanded for that??He’s afraid she’s trying to get him fired. What recourse does he have? Upper management seems to be taking her side despite the fact that she can’t provide proof for her claims.
