management withholding pay increases

i worked for a major building materials company. we merged with another building materials company…after the merge, most of the good people jumped ship because new management were completely inept….but that's another story…my location manager called me in and gave me a retention bonus so i would not leave. i accepted the bonus. i told him that this wouldn't be necessary if we got annual pay increases just to keep up with inflation. he then told me that he gave money to my supervisor specifically for a pay increase for me and that i will get it when i get my performance review. this was in june. my review was in march. he asked me why i didn't get a raise and i told “i don't know, you'd have to ask my boss”….his reply: “that stingy motherfucker…don't worry, i'll talk to him” july goes by august goes buy no raise…

july goes by

august goes buy

no raise

i cornered my location manager and asked him “hey, you remember that thing we talked about back in june? nothing has happened” he got pissed and bitched out my boss. my boss got pissed at me. he finally got around to giving me my raise. ninety fucking cents. and the cockbag had the balls to try shaming me by telling me that someone else isn't getting their raise because of me. i told him to keep it….y'all need it more than i do.

i've since left the company and i'm in a place that recognizes my talent. i've grown a small cabinet shop from installing 1 kitchen every 3 weeks to installing 3 kitchens every week and a half. i'm already making way more than i was making and the owners actually seek me out for advice on how to proceed with certain things.
