So I’m due to have a baby April 15th. Because of his size they scheduled a c section for April 7th. We had my OBs office complete FMLA paperwork for his job and are planning for him to take 2 weeks off (we were considering 3 weeks since I’ll be recovering from a c section and we have a toddler, he has vacation and sick time he can use). Pretty much HR said cool, thanks for turning it in, but his boss came back and told him he can’t take two weeks. Only one week. And that we would need to have other family come help so he could be at work. Also told him they’re planning to promote him in 8-10 months. I’m pissed. Can they really just say no when we’ve turned in FMLA paperwork to HR? His boss said he wouldn’t accept the paperwork since there were two different dates (due date and scheduled cesarean date). Really annoyed to have this extra stress right now.
