Hi guys, I just want to start off by giving a history of my work background. I graduated from biology and was supposed to work in the lab, but I wanted to do office work so I started working in the medical device industry since more than a year ago. However, I have prior work experience – 6 months in the hospital, 3 months in the lab(internship),3 months in digital marketing, 6 months in Public Relations. I finally got a regulatory role in medical devices but as an assistant, as I had no prior experience to regulatory affairs. I asked for 3k a month but was refused as the boss told me I had to train first and go through probation, they kinda lowballed me and gave me 2.6k, which is trainee salary. After I passed probation, I was told that they cannot give me increment due to lack of revenue in the company, but they would compensate me soon. It’s been a year into working here and I’m starting to get demotivated. The role I am carrying is assistant, but I’m doing executive level work (there’s no executive in the department currently) for trainee pay, for the past year!! I am truly demotivated. There are also no yearly appraisals, and the company still has lack of revenue as it’s still In registration of products phase. I want to demand an increment/raise to executive level (4K), how do I do it? I feel tied down because my role is still assistant level, but I also really love my job. But I can barely afford anything.
