Here me out first please.
Somehow i thought it would be a great idea to cover a colleague for 8+ months while he was doing repeated mistakes and, although we been through numerous times how to not keep repeating his mistakes, nothing changed. Although this was seriously affecting my work, i believed that eventually he will learn and improve so i never reported anything to anyone more senior than me.
Few weeks ago, after he repeated the same mistakes, i decided to send him an mail highlighting the issues and suggestions on how to improve ( again not ccing anyone senior, the email was between him and me).
He found the tone of my email rude and reported me to senior management.
To be honest, the email was far from perfect.
Then i had a call with senior management, where they basically implied that if i do the same mistake i will be fired.
The thing than hurt me the most is that nobody from the company wanted to hear my side of the story and basically kept focusing on my behavior.
Next week i will be requesting a hearing with the senior management so that i can explain my side of the story.
Advices will be greatly appreciated.
