For example, perhaps my company hires someone to work in one store, but during the interview it’s explained that although store A will be their main place of employment, occasionally they may be asked to work at store B or C. However, for the first year of the period of employment the employee only ever works in store A. Out of the blue the manager says “you gotta work in store B for a couple of days” but of course by this point the employee has built their routine and perhaps even their life around working at store A because the request to work at varying stores didn’t come for so long.
It’s something like “reasonable expectations” but I think there must be a more technical term.
