Been working at a busy spot for a bit now.
Previous management promised a yearly raise.
Well it hasn't happened so I became the squeaky wheel. Asked the second in command about it.
That turned into I don't have an answer for that talk to the big boss.
Big boss sits me down and basically said the owners have put a freeze on raises. I said they just got done about bragging about a record breaking year….
The big boss was like I'm trying and they still are like no dice. Then I was told maybe you should get a second job. (I'm a salaried manager that has open availability for them.). I said well it's not my first choice, but if that's the solution whatever I'll do it.
I asked the second in command what they would prefer, as my availability was going to change with interviews next week. He wasn't told anything about that conversation. I said well I'm just following the instructions I got. So again I need to know what you want from me because I will not have open availability in a week or two.
Poor guy is caught in the middle. But that's not my fault, or problem.
Like I have no clue what what they want me to do because they skipped out on a raise so now I am taking care of me with the very suggestion I was given.
Another manager did the same thing and they seem surprised that no one has open availability.
For context I saved this company tens of thousands of dollars in repairs by implementing a preventative maintenance program. We execute with a smaller team and have record breaking sales.
I'm over this shit.
