I’m a cart attendant. As you can imagine, working in a parking lot that is coated completely in ice is difficult and dangerous. I don’t ask for help because I already know damn well that my supervisor doesn’t care to give me any. But today, my supervisor not only forced me to work out in the most hazardous terrain I could possibly work in as a cart attendant all day without help, but two minutes before the store closes they demanded that I further put my literal ass at risk, just so they could have the peace of mind that I didn’t spend two minutes not working. And then to rub further salt in the wound, literally, they told another employee to salt the sidewalk, because they didn’t want anyone slipping and falling when they leave. No boss of mine has ever made me so face-meltingly angry in the 10 years I’ve been able to work. I’m already making plans to quit. I hope it was worth the 51 cents they saved.
