First retail job. I'm in college and classes started last week.
This week, I'm scheduled for one day (Friday) the hours don't affect my college classes. Anyway, today, I asked my boss if she could update my availability. I didn't think it was worth mentioning that I already started classes this week. I just told her, “Next week won't be able to work *times*”. I figured because the schedule is already set, the chances she would ask me to come into work during my unavailable time, is slim. I needed my schedule changed I can't work Tuesday and Friday 4-6pm. She texted me back saying “No worries” and asked if I could come in 3-7pm tomorrow. I told her no because I have a class.
I apologize for not giving exact dates. Now I'm stressing because she probably thinks I'm dumb.
But I kinda of felt like this was shady. I'm probably being dramatic. Idk. this is the same lady who didn't reply to me after she asked me to text her last week. She wanted to show me how to stock the backroom. She said, “Please text me if you can come in tomorrow”. I texted her and got no response.
She just texted me and said is 4-6 okay. This is dead-ass the hours I told her I couldn't come in and asked her to change. She literally has my text from 2 hours ago saying I can't work 4-6. What is this?
OKAY NOW I'M?? So I told her I couldn't come in 4-6 but could come in after (for like 3 hours lol). She just thumbs up the text. Wtf? So I said, “Please let me know if you want me to come in tomorrow after 2”. She never replied lol.
