I don’t want to sound like a boot licker but there’s a good and a bad way to do a layoff

There’s been endless posts about layoffs in white collar roles lately. It’s amazing me that all these people don’t know the elimination of their income is coming. That’s super cut throat Where I worked previously was a mega corp defense contractor who went through a round of layoffs after losing contracts. The company is global but the layoff was announced I believe 60 days prior to the layoff date and the exact site and expected functions were announced (60 days from now we will be reducing staff at xyz site in engineering teams/recruiting teams/quality teams etc). Maybe it was to avoid litigation, but 60 days notice with hints toward it being you that will lose your income is pretty fair in the business world. And no, there was no WARN notice requirement.
