I have worked for this assembly company for about a year and a half. Over the course of that time there have been three times where one or two bedbugs have been found in the bathroom. No one has been fired. All they did was put little towers up, spray everything with lysol, and get an exterminator that does “bed bug control” to come through.
I stuck it out with the first sighting, I work in a secluded area of the factory so I didn’t worry myself too much. The second time I made a bigger stink about it. Left for the day, told them to do something about it and then I’ll come back. Now it has happened, AGAIN.
I saw the photo someone took and reported it with and I was absolutely done. This time I took my stuff and walked right out the door and called my bosses boss. Her claim was that “it’s not happening again, it was just one bed bug someone found.”
Motherfucker. You think that one lonely little bed bug is the only one in the building? You think that guys chair isn’t full blown infested with the things? You expect me to come back after you put up traps and spray everything with lysol for a third time thinking that you’re solving the problem? What if that ONE was pregnant? Absolutely fed up with this company. It’s wildly unprofessional, disorganized, dirty, everyone who works there borders on having dog water for cerebral fluid.
That’s just the bed bug incident too. Let alone the fact that our HR rep is so inept that I missed the window to elect benefits TWICE so they had to fire and re-hire me to open another window. Shit, don’t get me started on having to basically quit my job to get a fair wage for the massive amount of responsibility I take on. All of these things rolled into one just make me want to start looking for a new job right now. At the very least I will be checking the fuck out. No more overtime. No more extra effort. Amphenol has pissed in mu cheerios for the last time.
