This is more of a rant also I apologize for my grammar. I work at a family owned plant nursery, I am the store manager. There are two owners(my bosses). One is older in his 70s and the other is middle aged. We do not have any benefits at all. The plant nursery we work at is HUGE, but we have less than 10 people who take care of the plants. It feels like they expect 1000% out of us everyday. I am so tired of it.
My bosses never trained me properly and expect me to read their minds and do things right the first time. Whenever I make a mistake they like to hold it over my head. The way they talk to me is exhuasting. Always talking to me like I am stupid and belittle me. The boss that is middle aged he can be a bit more personable at times, but other times it just seems like I am not doing enough at work. He also tells me that he wants me to work with him for awhile and grow with the business and tells me if I ever left then they are fucked. I was promised a raise months ago and never recieved one then was told to wait until we make more money in the spring.
I really enjoy the work I do and I love working with plants, but my bosses make me feel like I am going crazy. They also keep adding on responsibilites for me and my coworkers without any extra pay and today they told us we cannot work on tasks together anymore. Cleaning a green house full of plants by yourself takes HOURS. Its faster when you have another person help.
My coworkers are really fed up and not happy. I always wish I can do more for them. Whenever I, myself or my coworkers take a day or two off bosses complain that we are taking “ a lot” of time off trying to make us feel guilty.
I can go on and on about all the things they do/say that make me upset, but that is all I can say for the time being.
