I was in a contract position and year after year my contract get renewed. However each year there’s about 5 month of gap time that I couldn’t work as the work is not required.
I am a star employee and eveyone likes me and I work overtime. I’m also involved in extras curriculum stuff for the team and my manager had been giving me lots of opportunity to shine during my time there but I wanted to be permanent and not have that gap in my employment.
She promoted one person to permanent and I find she is often unfair on how she extend people’s contract. She thought I have money and no pressure for financials so she never extended me. This angered me and this summer I finally left this job after 5 years and started another position in the company.
My manager tried to retain me and asked me to stay; however after 6 weeks of starting my new hob, I found out on the job listing site she is hiring for a permanent position, exactly the same job I had before. I am angry and felt betrayed. I think if I stayed for my current job she probably would never hired for somebody permanently but now she sees good employee leaving she decided to hire.
I know she probably has an internal candidate in mind for her posting and I was not reached out to apply. Plus my new job is a better title without much pay difference and I’m very turned off by all of this.
What’s going on here ?
