I've been applying to jobs since June. I've applied to 29 different companies (I keep a list) & a couple of those companies had multiple positions that I've applied to. I applied to one company over 3 times for an internship AND associate positions, and I heard NOTHING back since June. However, they keep reposting the same positions on LinkedIn.
I had 2 interviews since applying, and one of the companies wanted to do a phone interview for the basics. Long story short, besides that phone screening, I would've had to go through FOUR rounds of interviews, no relocation assistance, and they were paying less than my min. salary expectation. When I tried to renegotiate, I got ghosted after she said that she would talk to people & she would “reach back out with updates”. I had that interview a month ago…. I reached out to my connections multiple times–even personally texted one–and they didn't respond. I've been making new connections, I even have a meeting set up this week, and I spoke to a VP 2 weeks ago. I'm networking, applying, tailoring my resume, checking applications, attempting to message recruiters, and I can't even get a f*cking “sorry, but this position has been filled.
I'm losing motivation & it's making me even more anti-work. I don't have a “dream job” like others b/c, truthfully, I don't dream of working, especially seeing the conditions that ppl go through to not even make rent. However, I have a degree in my field, I know what I'm good at, and what I enjoy. I tried Zip Recruiter and indeed (I prefer LinkedIn) but I'm finding old job postings or “entry level” jobs that require 3+ years of experience. This is why “nobody wants to work anymore”. Shitty conditions while working, shitty feelings during the job search.
