I guess we should just keep quiet about COVID, huh?

An hour ago I got the news that my Roommate might have contracted COVID, as her Coworker might have COVID. Doing the right thing and trying to move quickly I told my store manager and the 4 people I work with at the front of the office, and ordered some disposable masks as there weren't any in office. 30 minutes ago the masks arrived and I masked up. 15 minutes ago I got a call from my direct manager (in another city) in which she explained that some people are sensitive to the topic and they might be upset about potentially hurting their family members, so it's best not to tell people about that sensitive information. I repeated to her “Okay, so, I shouldn't tell people when they might be taking home a virus to their susceptible loved ones.” She kind of stumbled and told me that it's just something…

In total it was a 15 minute phone call.

So fuck everything we learned 3 years ago about epidemiology, I guess.
