I work in manufacturing on an assembly line basically today was awful I have no pto time or personal day and my job does not give any sick time what so ever. I'f you miss Days you get points and u won't qualify for other positions you apply for I make around 23/hour currently.
I was told by my main supervisor we will call her Yancy today to get on a forklift and move a palet over so I did as soon as I moved it here comes a team lead well call her (Mary) telling me I need to be on the assembly line and I can never leave it or Yancy will be extremely mad and I told her that the supervisor told me to (her boss) and she kinda backed off.
Then we had a big issue on the assembly line I work with 2 other people we will call them Derrik and Sammy and I have only been on this position for about less than 2 weeks so I'm still learning we ran into a unit that me and derrik were brand-new to Sammy and Derrick do not get along very well and to top it off Derrick Is a child molester. All day they argued and Sammy believes she knows everything in the world anytime Derrick says anything she rolls her eyes and catches attitude she also sucks up to Mary constantly telling Mary when we go to the bathroom or what not I left the line last night to use the restroom and spit mucus because I am sick as shit and she apparently went to Yancy and told her I was gone for 30 minutes when I was gone for minutes tops.
So on the line today with the several units we could not get all out in time Yancy and Mary could not figure out what to do with the units so here's what Yancy said as she came back.
“Remember 6:30 to 11:30 is your 4 hours for Friday that we take off early. We work 2:30-11:30 everyday till Friday we work 4 hours. So basically was threateningto take our fridays
“Your efficiency will be on 1 person but it will count for all 3 of you” basically we are scored every year on our efficientcy it affects our bonus and chances to apply to a higher/better position within the company.
“Thank you guys let me know if you guys have any ideas to get this all off the line ant faster tonight. ”
At this point I'm ready to quit in sick I'm tired im living in my car as well on top of that this company also Is on strike currently in California because of such low pay around 18/hour.
The only good thing I have going for me is I have a vacation to Florida I put in months ago and I already have plane tickets and I'm going around Christmas I've been going to work because I'm afraid they will send me home and use my vacation time to cover my pay and we don't get many days off. I do not know what to do please help. I really want to leave am I being sensitive or should i just leave..
