I hate the phrase “good for you”

As in: “Did you see the boss's email last night?” “No I don't check my work email after I clock out” “Good for you!” It's so condescending, like a coded way of saying 'you must not give a shit'. I do care, and I work my ass off during my scheduled hours, but my work stays at work. WTF is wrong with that? The same people that say 'good for you' are the ones on the verge of having a breakdown from stress and overworking and complian constantly. It's not 'good for me', it's that they are bad for themselves and detrimental to everyone else when going above and beyond becomes the norm without any compensation. Its 26 pieces of flair all over again. Thank you for letting me vent here instead of cussing out my coworker.
