I just filed a report with the department of labor for unpaid wages from a former employer. I didn’t work there long, what records do I need?

It was a bartending job. The manager never had me file a W4, said he would pay me cash for training. I worked there for about 2 months and never received a paycheck. I was fired because there was no grilled cheese button in the system under sandwiches, so the only button I could find was under the kids menu. He accused me of stealing because of this. After I was fired I asked if he wanted my address to send me my wages he owed me, he said yes. I gave it to him. Waited two weeks, asked again, and offered to come pick it up. He never responded.
