I just graduated & got a raise

I started working with a company about 2.5 years ago. My starting salary was $3/more than I was making, and it was less work/stress. I was in school and the plan was for me to get a promotion when I graduated. My next raise was $2/hour, still doing the same role plus a very small portion of what my promotion would be. I recently graduated college and had already fully transitioned to my new role, but had not gotten a raise. I just had my performance review today. It was pretty good, I’d rate it a 4.5/5. My raise was only $2.50/hour. I feel like my raise would have been the same if I had stayed in my old role and hadn’t graduated. My job requires a bachelor’s degree. I was expecting at least a $5/hour raise. I had plans to move across the country after my raise, but now…

I had plans to move across the country after my raise, but now that doesn’t seem possible. I live in a very low cost of living town/state and my company operates in a very high cost of living city/state. The salary would be okay for where I live, but not for where my company operates.

It was a huge blow and I’m just not as excited or happy as I was before. I love my company, and I love my career, I’m torn.
