I just lost my job… and I’ve never felt better.

I went above and fucking beyond for this company. Gave 120% every day I came in, learned how to do the jobs of 3 different shifts, ACTIVELY DID ALL 3 JOBS DURING MY MID SHIFT ON TOP OF MY OWN JOB, went out of my way to help everyone, stayed late both voluntarily and every time I was ever asked. I genuinely liked my work and the people I worked with, despite my issues with the company on the whole. The one fucking time I said I couldn't stay later than I already was, because I had very pressing responsibilities, and I had been coming in early all week and staying late to help cover the workload of 2 co-workers that were on vacation, upper management threatened to fire me if I didn't stay. So, I stayed and worked a near double shift. WHEN I CAME IN THE NEXT DAY…

WHEN I CAME IN THE NEXT DAY AND FOUND OUT I WAS BEING MOVED TO NIGHT CREW IN RETALIATION FOR HAVING THE GALL TO NOT WANT TO WORK A DOUBLE SHIFT, I was fucking livid. Beyond angry. Every day I came in for a month fucking seething with anger, and it wasn't a secret. I made my anger known, and my co-workers understood.

Eventually I just hit a whole new level of “don't give a fuck.” And when called out on it by my supervisor, I responded with “I used to give a 120% every day, now you'll be lucky to get 80% out of me on a good day.”

As of today, it has all culminated in me being suspended from work pending investigation till Monday, in which it will be determined whether or not I still have a job.

AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER! Like good God, finally I'm free. I've been applying for jobs and going to interviews for weeks, and am pretty sure I have a job offer coming my way very soon for a team lead position, I'm so excited to be rid of this awful company. Fuck them.
