As the title says. I am a bartender at a restaurant. When i applied, the manager and i agreed that he would pay me the minimum wage. I am not going to name the restaurant (not yet). But as i said. The minimum wage where i live is 14.25 and is expected to go up in May to 15.25. But i am being paid less than 14.25. He is actually been paying for the last six months 13.50. I will talk to him this weekend about it. What would you guys recommend if he denied me the actual wage? Should i quit on the spot?.
I have a very excellent relationship with the entire restaurant staff, including my boss but it doesn't justify it being underpaid. The law is the law. What should i do? Should i report it? Should i quit?
