I've been at my position for 6 months and I finally gave up. I'm in the mental health profession and the director and assistant director are terrorizing their staff including me. We've all been railroaded, thrown under the bus, and verbally abused by these people. I'm not protected by the union since I'm still on a probation period but I witnessed a staff meeting where the director cut off an employee while he was talking and had to be told by 5 other people to stop and let him finish his sentence. He's been working there for almost as long as she's been alive and is the sweetest person. Personally, I've had to get FMLA and an ADA accommodation to use PTO for doctors appointments. I've been called unprofessional, lied about, and when I asked for guidance was literally told no. I stated that I wanted help and guidance to improve because I haven't gotten any positive feedback. My supervisor's response was “we're not here to pat you on the back every time you do something right.” One of our vendors told me they were contacting the director about the way that she targets people. I got an email from the director saying that it was my fault for CC'ing the vendor on an email chain about their client and that it was my fault for causing them to become upset with my director's behavior and call her out on it, stating that I was unprofessional and “My actions” had a “significant negative impact.” Completely glazing over her own behavior and why the vendors were upset in the first place. I gave them a one month resignation notice to give me some time to try and get a plan together. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do but staying there was just not an option any more.
