I work at a hospital and we have a Low Work Time (LWT) policy, this means that an employee can request LWT and get the day off with no imaginary attendance points against them.
I already have a lot of points because my car has needed a lot of repairs, I've been ill and family issues. So I told my night shift supervisor that I'll need the day off, because my brakes and inner tie rod are shot. She told me to request LWT and it'll be fine because there's a couple extra staff.
So I request LWT and go about my day getting ripped off by mechanics. Well 5:00 rolls around and I haven't heard anything so I call up the Supervisor phone and ask what's going on with it.
The conversation goes as follows.
Supervisor: “Oh yeah I denied that.”
Me: “Okay well I'm not going to be in today. My car is currently on a lift.”
Supervisor: “WOWWWWWW, Really? This is going to count as a No Call No Show. Seriously? I JUST called all our extra staff and told them we didn't need them.”
Me: “Yep, seriously. Bye.”
TLDR: Needed day off, had staff to cover, supervisor called all extra staff and told them “No hours for you!” so she can shove her nose a little farther up administrations ass. Because fuck me, I guess.
