So! I recently had a job interview for a really awesome position which I would have loved to get and for which I am totally qualified!
The interview went pretty good, the person was friendly and it felt like we got along rather nicely, like I had this interview in the bag, you know that feeling right?
Anyway, towards the end they informed me about some ‘guidelines’ and that if I wanted to work in this position, I had to follow these given rules. Which seemed fine at first until they asked me if I was okay with “coloring my hair a more natural color to fit into the family friendly image of the company”. My hair color is red. I’m a ginger. A natural, born like this, ginger.
I was so perplexed, asked if I had heard that correctly and as they repeated it – I got up and left.
Maybe just leaving was a tad too much but I just found that weirdly offensive and insensitive and so so weird. What are your opinions on this? Would love to hear!
