My wife is changing jobs soon, but staying in the same field. She was told by the new job that health insurance will kick in after 90 days after her new start. I'm told this isn't Abby-normal at all. That's fine, whatever, but looking at cobra it'll cost us close to 9k to keep family for those 30 days. My job offers insurance, but at a high rate and it will suck- just not as bad as cobra. Now she needs to change for a healthy mind and quality of life and all that, but this shit sucks when health care is tied to a job. Why does it have to be this way?
