I resigned from my position this morning due to the company shutting down it’s US based operations to move our jobs oversea’s. The final date for US agents is September 31st.
I’ve had anxiety and dread over this deadline, and decided to just go ahead and leave while looking for a new job during the usual hours i would normally work. I just prefer to get it over with and ect. Plus i had a few leads i would rather follow.
I let my manager know i wasn’t going to continue work, and that I would return all company items tuesday morning (closed for labor day monday) when office hours resumed.
For clarity, we WFH wednesday-friday.
They called me and told me i had to drive to the office and meet someone there to turn my stuff in. I refused, citing I would return the items when regular office hours resumed.
They called over and over and demanded I make the drive now to return items.
I lost my cool and wrote a giant email. Pent up feelings of our manager interviewing and training iur oversea’s canditates in plain sight, just 10 ft away from us at his desk.
I called him out, went into mass detail as to why i was leaving, and called the ceo and shareholders “souless troglodytes” at the end.
Can i be in any legal trouble for this?
