I feel this is such a dumb post but I just couldn’t keep it in.
For context, i’ve been working part time while attending school. I haven’t been paid a lot for how much I actually work as the owner refuses to clock me in as in I have yet to recieve a code. I am expected to show up early and got yelled at for not showing up EARLY for times I wont even be paid for. I was paid one less hour because apparently I showed up at the wrong time and worked an extra hour (I let the guy know I was there and he didnt say I was early).
Today, I just had enough once I realized how much I am getting tipped and then I realized i’m getting 0% of these tips. I don’t recieve any tips from the people that leave them through their credit card. I was getting tipped a lot recently because I go above and beyond to help costumers. In a small store, I got tipped 20% for some orders and I was alone. I will not be seeing any of these tips because we just don’t get them. Only the cash tips which are usually just a few dollars a day.
To be honest, i’m not in an urgent need of money. I have a secure emergency fund and i’m just working part time so I have something to do. The $13 was nothing when compared to how I get treated. I show up every time someone else flakes. I am aware I need to find a better environment but I do like this job.
