A friend referred me to a position in my field. Ive been at my current job for 1yr9months, and have been looking for work for about 4ish months. They keep saying raises and promotions are coming but never do, and flaunt at their monthly meeting how well the corporation is doing, signing new clients and making more revenue, while also hiring from outside and not promoting from within. I talked to the recruiter today, they said my resume looked great and that my experience at my current job made me the perfect fit. The interview would be tomorrow, but she was sure I'd get it. Great! I can stop looking for jobs and actually enjoy time after work for once and get back to some hobbies. She called me back 10ish minutes later, saying that she just saw its not 2 yrs experience but 1 yr and 9 months, and the company is a stickler for the experience. The training period wouldve started when I had 1 yr and 10 months, and when training was over I would've had 2 yrs experience in the field and 2 of those months wouldve been woth the new company. Wouldn't it be better to get someone slightly fresher, that they could've molded into exactly what they want? This is my first job outta college, im not making great money, this job wouldve doubled my hourly, and idk Im just kinda fucking annoyed. I dont want to spend anymore time here, Im so tired of looking for jobs, but i guess I have to do for 4 more months at a dead end job so I have the minimum experience people are looking for.
