For some context, I wrote a post some time explaining that I gave my 30 days notice at my now ex-job. Well today it was my final notice day and got an appointment with HR to sign all the paperwork and whatever.
The place has two buildings, one has a warehouse and an upper floor with some fancy cool offices with all the commercial department and HR; the other building is the manufactoring plant and the technical office, where I used to work.
Before the meeting, I went to say goodbye to my colleagues at the second building before going to the other one but while I was there, a HR lady came with all the papers and told me that she brought everything and there was no need to to go to the office.
Then she told me to go to a quiet place to sign so we don’t bother the other workers so I just said goodbye and we proceed to go to the basement, to a room used as a lab for product testing that had a round table. After the formalities she admited that came here because the CEO wasn’t happy about my departure (not personal, that AH isn’t happy with anything at all) and told me that he didn’t want me to say goodbye to my other colleagues in the office and that if I had gone there he would have probably berated me and told HR to sign and escort me to the door as if I was some kind of traitor or something.
Well after that she just started to complain about the assholes that run the company and that she personally didn’t think I deserved that treatment so I thank her and I hope she doesn’t get in trouble.
I must admit that at this point I would have enjoyed the view of the CEO fuming because I don’t care and he does not have any power over me but at least I have this story to tell.
