Reading through various posts here, it made me think of my own unfortunate encounters.
For a few years I worked at a superstore gathering carts. I felt I wasn't getting anywhere, so I went to another superstore with higher pay and hoped to have a less physically demanding job. I applied, got the interview, and learned that they lied on the listing and I would be gathering carts. Nay, not just that, but I had to clean the toilets once every hour.
They offered me a cashier job, but only if I finish the first week of this job. I walked out. If I knew about this place, I would have turned down the initial job at the interview. I didn't have the spine…
Afterwards, during the pandemic, I tried getting a job as customer service for an online retailer. We had to go through a four day training course, and it was the dullest course ever. Though this is likely a failure on my part, as I learn better by working, rather than sitting there for four hours watching a Powerpoint presentation. Honestly, I couldn't take it and quit 3/4ths through the training.
I'm thankful for this forum. I see now I shouldn't take this kind of bullshit, and it's not going to haunt me unless I let it.
