I work as a machinist for a small company. I’ve been employed here for close to 4 years now and I need to get the fuck out. We only have 6 people on the floor and we are required to keep track of time spent per job each day and turn the sheets in every Tuesday before noon. The sheets are purely for data collection and we’ve been doing them for over a year now. I’m the only person in my department and I was overloaded with emails, running machines, and just all around doing my job and didn’t turn my sheet in. I’ve only ever had this happen once before when we first started this process and I didn’t get paid like I should have. Tomorrow I’m going to make an attempt to be reasonable but I think I’ll just clock out and leave if they don’t agree to pay me. Is this even legal? Am I being irrational??
