“There's an older man at my job who is around 60 years old, while I am 21. He has been consistently difficult to work with, and I have been dealing with his behavior for months. We work side by side, and he has a history of causing problems. We previously swapped and worked with other people due to his behavior, but I ended up back with him. He constantly complains about everything. Yesterday, while we were cleaning and sweeping up, I finished my task and put the dustpan away, thinking he was done too. Apparently, he wasn't, and he started berating me, calling me names because I put the dustpan away and I guess he wasnt finished and it was time to clock out. I had had enough, and in front of everyone in the shop, I lost control and yelled, 'Enough! Knock it off now!' He stomped away, saying, 'You sure know how to piss someone off, don't you?' The next day, I talked to some coworkers, and one of them said it was good that I put him in his place. Others agreed. It felt good, but I was shaking so bad I was gonna hurt em. I had been patient for weeks, trying to be respectful due to his age, but sometimes, you have to set boundaries, I suppose.”
