I’d like to share my quitting story.

I worked at PetSmart part time as a stocker, but was expected to learn the register and everything in between. I never complained and just did my job. On multiple days I would have to stay later than expected because they “forgot” to put a cashier on the schedule and I would be at work from 3am to 3pm. Sometimes I’d get ask to stay and help until close so I’d be there until 9pm or 12am if we were doing the facing and put backs. I put in 85 hours in one week being part time who he as 40 extra hours than my manager. I put in 85 hours in one week being part time who he as 40 extra hours than my manager. One day my grandmother fell and hurt herself so I took her to the hospital and wasn’t able to cover a shift because I was staying with her. I was called a “non team player” and told “we will talk about availability in the future”. This made me so mad and I tried my best to not let it bother me. A week later I’m at work and the first thing my manager tells me is “weren’t you in the military you look beat and unprofessional did they not teach you anything there?” I just let it go and started working. When stoking I noticed my manager was on her phone and not helping with the 13 pallets of dog food and toys we had and I stayed quiet. I then hear the door open and a man come in yelling to which she replied yelling back at him. (It was her boyfriend who she was fighting with and he grabbed her physically while yelling) I asked her if she needed help or wanted me to Intervene and she scolded me and told me to focus on my work and not her personal life. I told her that her making a scene at work was not professional and then told her I didn’t need this job. I gave her my uniform shirt and walked out all while she was yelling me at to “get the fuck back here and finish this truck I’m not fucking doing it” and “don’t use us as a reference you fucking asshole”

TLDR; I quit PetSmart after being overworked and talked down to after I tried to help my manager with her abusive boyfriend.
