If I made $200 less/month, I’d get an extra $750/month in FoodShare

In my state, the very first thing that they check when you apply for FoodShare or EBT (foodstamps), is your gross income. That's pre-tax, pre-deductions, pre-anything. If I make $72k/year, that's $6k/month. The cutoff for a family of my size is $5,800/month for EBT. The payout for a family of my size is ~$750/month in benefits. As such, I started looking for ways to lower this. They have credits and the like to adjust your amount you get, but the very first thing they look at is your gross income. Super great to live in this system. We are almost paycheck to paycheck with a family of our size, and our property taxes JUST went up 49%. So… yay.
