My partner worked at a small to-go sushi place. The owners had made many promises to her. They told her that they would get her help. They promised her more money. They would constantly talk about how much more experienced sushi chefs cost and how she was better. One if the owners would frequently refer to her as if she were property. This person was also prone to mood swings and frequently passive aggressive. Their was a recent falling out with the owners' business partner, and my girlfriend's bosses talked a lot about how she was family and how they were getting out and taking her with them. Then they started taking 3 or 4 days off a week and doing the bare minimum when they were at work. They would show up on busy nights with friends creating more work for their understaffed restauarnt. A few weeks ago they decided to keep the business business and use it to fund their next venture. They wanted gf to stay and run their to-go business for the next year and a half and told her that she would need to give 6 months notice if she wanted to leave. I'm proud of the way she handled the situation.
