I have a job that I really like, as far as jobs go, and I think my company treats its employees well, but these guys are driving me crazy with this fake positivity “we’re all in this together” bullshit. I’m not comfortable sharing details of my life with my team to build an emotional connection. There’s an attempt to convince people that we choose employment based on the company’s empathy and diversity, not the job we’ll be doing and our pay rate. And my whole team, we’re on a call talking about whatever the topic of the day is, and they’re like, “Oh yeah, great, I think it’s really valuable how we…” blah blah fake bs and I know they have to be thinking the same thing I am, right? Just stop. Be a good company that hires/pays fairly and treats its employees well. Don’t force us to drink the company kool aid. It’s really turning me off to an otherwise good job.
