We recently had a company wide meeting at my job. It was as predictable as you think. Corporate higher upps congratulating themselves and talking about how we need to reduce costs. They've cut OT and travel for normal workers but still allow managers to go eat out and spend hundreds of dollars on a normal workday. An employee had asked the ceo if we could earn more pay or pto by being an above average employee. It had been stated that was not thought of and most employees get a decorative pen for their fantastic work ethics. We also kept hearing how everyone is just as important as the other but we all know that's a lie. Many companies I've worked for always say that they care about their people first, but then treat their front line works like warehouse workers, as sub human. It's just funny to me that this seems to be a problem everywhere. I had walked in on the HR manager, and a couple of managers yelling at the warehouse workers, basically blaming them for the low morale.
