Joined my company as a fresh graduate and I’m a couple of years in. I came in with 0 working experience and learnt from everything from scratch.
I recently started to realise that I’m doing a lot more work than my colleagues. I was very eager to learn at the start and didn’t mind taking on more over. Which did pay off coz I got pay rise a new times when my colleagues didn’t. It’s so obvious now coz they come to me for help. With that ofc they start pushing work to me.
At first I was like ok I’ll do since you are busy. But now that I’m more experienced I know they aren’t doing more things than me. I was shocked to find out where one of the guys lives. The rent is very high and I know if wife isn’t at a high paying job. He’s 11 years older than me and maybe that’s why his pay me more than mine. but I’m sure I do more work than him coz he gets scolded by my boss all the time.
After this I kinda stopped letting them push me. When they say I’m busy I’m just like yea I’m busy too. I don’t even say anything after that and continue doing my work. Even now, the big boss sent us some work. I ignored it at first and checked with my colleague. She said she is busy and I asked her to check with the guy. Apparently he’s busy too…with what I don’t know.
I’m kinda guilty for not taking initiative but I have other work to do. Ugh I hate these people.
