In my shock, I signed this letter acknowledging I was let go. Boss hinted twice that I should also send a resignation letter by Monday.

I work (or worked 😉 at a toxic school district in the communications department. They’ve budget is in the deficit and after massive layoffs over the summer, I guess it reached my co-worker and I. I signed this letter while still in shock and am now kicking myself for it. But the letter reads as if i’m getting laid off as opposed to fire for cause/disciplinary action, etc. There was no warning before this. Did I forfeit unemployment claims by signing?
